SOFTBALL TO PLAY ONE ON THURSDAY, TWO ON SATURDAY VS. PORTLAND STATE

SACRAMENTO -- Due to expected inclement weather in the Sacramento area on Friday and early Saturday, the Hornets' home softball three-game series vs. Portland State has been moved up one day, and the schedule has completely changed.

Originally, the teams were supposed to play a doubleheader on Friday and single game Saturday. However, in an effort to beat the rains, the two teams will play a single game on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Friday has been completely canceled, and the two teams will now play a doubleheader on Saturday at 12 p.m. The Sacramento area is expected to get 2-3 inches of rain beginning Thursday night and running into Saturday morning.

Sacramento State's home facility, Shea Stadium, was completely resurfaced prior to last season and has brand new mainline drains and field drainage, allowing the field to take on heavy rains and remain playable.

Sacramento State (17-11, 3-3) has won 13 of its last 17 games, and is 6-4 at home this season. Portland State will enter Thursday's game with a 10-24 overall record and 3-3 league mark.
