RAIN CANCELS SOFTBALL’S GAME AT CAL

Due to rains that have swept through the Berkeley area, Sacramento State's softball game at Cal has been canceled. The two teams were supposed to play today at 4 p.m. at Levine-Fricke Field.

The game will likely be rescheduled for a future date.

Today would have been the Hornets' last non-conference tuneup before Big Sky Conference play begins this Friday and Saturday for a three-game series at Northern Colorado.

The Hornets are 14-8, and have won five straight and 10 of the last 11 games. Cal, which is ranked 20th in the nation, is currently 24-5.

The two teams played on Feb. 11 at Shea Stadium when the Bears squeaked out a 2-1 win over the Hornets in extra innings.
