BEACH VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO #12 ARIZONA AND BOISE STATE

BOISE, Idaho -- Sacramento State played two of its final three regular season matches of the season today, falling to both 12th-ranked Arizona and Boise State by 4-1 scores.

The Hornets are playing three times in Boise to wrap up the regular season, which includes another matchup with Arizona tomorrow at 9 a.m. PDT. With the victory, Arizona, which is ranked 12th in the nation in the latest AVCA top 25 poll, improved to 22-4. The Broncos moved their record to ???.

Highlighting the day for the Hornets was Mikaela Nocetti and Sarah Davis knocking off Arizona's No. 1 team of Mia Mason/Olivia Hallaran by an 18-21, 21-18, 16-14 score. The win was the third straight for Nocetti/Davis, and the pair nearly won a fourth straight before falling in their match at No. 1 against Boise State, 21-10, 19-21, 15-10.

The Hornets' lone victory against Boise State came at No. 3 where Macey Hayden and McKenna Smith defeated Ellie McDonald and Jensen Allen by a 22-20, 16-21, 17-15 score.

The 4-1 loss to Boise State was closer than the final score indicated as the Hornets (2-16) kept things close in each of its four losing matches. That included Paige Calvin/Sarah Falk at No. 5 (21-19, 21-18), Skyler Takeda/Ashtin Olin at No. 2 (24-22, 21-16) and Kayla Subbert/Paige Swinney at No. 4 (21-16, 21-15).
