HORNET CLUB & ADP MEMBERSHIP SUPPORTS ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT

The Hornet Club and Sacramento State Athletics is excited to announce a three-year membership with ADP, the leading provider of innovative human resources management software and services.  This membership allows ADP and the Hornet Club to establish a platform for connecting student-athletes to professional development opportunities and introduces ADP to the Sacramento State Athletics department.

Being at the Athletics Director Club level, ADP will also receive member benefits including, invitations to Hornet Club events, ticket passes to Olympic sports, and invitations to the Athletics Director’s Terrace during the football season.  “We couldn’t be more excited to be able to add another career development tool for our student-athletes” said Markus Jennings, Associate AD for External Affairs. “Building their skills outside of the fields and courts of play is paramount for us and we take great pride in trying to help all our student-athletes become successful citizens once they graduate."

Via the three-year partnership, ADP will host professional development workshops, speak with the athlete leadership group (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, SAAC), and be a part of the annual Student-Athlete Career Night held each spring semester.  The Student-Athlete Development program plans to partner with ADP on events to expose student-athletes to topics pertinent to a successful transition into their careers. “We hope to be able partner to provide sales workshops and sales roles plays for athletes.  We look forward to supporting the Sacramento State athletes and preparing them for sales careers post college” noted Jamie Noriega, Vice President of ADP Sales.

Hornet student-athletes perform at high levels on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.  With GPA averages above a 3.000 and over 1,300 hours given back to the Sacramento community last year, Sacramento State student-athletes strive to prepare for their lives after sport. Noriega knows the value of local support and the caliber of Hornet student-athletes: “Sacramento State being a local university ADP looks forward to giving back and cannot wait for our partnership to continue to grow.  ADP is excited to provide athletes looking for sales careers with a foundation locally, as we find that athletes often possess transferable skills that make them successful here at ADP.”
