FOSTER CITY, Calif. -- The Sacramento State women's rowing squad won medals in all three events it entered, which included a gold in the double, and silvers in both the single and collegiate novice eight, on Saturday at the Head of the Lagoon.

Saturday's racing took place on a five-kilometer course with a time trial format. Sacramento State competed one boat in the open single (four-boat field), the collegiate novice eight (10-boat field) and the double (three-boat field).

The Hornets' novice eight finished ahead of every entry in the field except for Cal which posted a first-place time of 18:42.5. Sacramento State placed second with a time of 21:06.7, which was over 90 seconds better than the remaining eight boats in the field. The Hornets' time was faster than crews from Saint Mary's and UC Davis, among others.
