ROWING LOOKING FOR COXSWAINS FOR THE 2017-18 SEASON

The Sacramento State women's rowing program is looking for new coxswains for the 2017-18 season. No experience is necessary and the coaching staff will teach everything you need to know.

Coxswains steer the 50-foot long boats, act as the onboard coach, and give commands to the eight rowers through a built-in loud speaker system. New coxswains will work with our group of 20-plus walk-on rowers and learn the sport together with them. Check out this link to hear one of our former coxswains in action in at the Sacramento State Invitational.

Coxswains weigh less than 120 pounds, and must be women for our team.

Sacramento State rowing is a varsity sport and there are no fees or membership dues to be on the team. All travel and uniform costs are covered by the team. For exceptional athletes, scholarships are available.

Practices are typically held in the early mornings (6:00 a.m.) at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center at Lake Natoma. If you have a scheduling problem, let us know and we can try to work with your class schedule.

To watch a practice and meet with the coaching staff, or if you have questions, call or email assistant coach George Jenkins at (916) 278-2928 or george.jenkins@csus.edu.
