As a junior (2013): Competed in every spring race for the third straight year…began the season racing in the two seat with the second varsity eight during the boat’s first two races…competed with the varsity eight the remainder of the spring, a span of nine straight races…sat in the two seat with the V8 on five occasions, and the three seat on four occasions…finished the year in the two seat.

As a sophomore (2012): A first team all-WIRA selection…began the season with the second varsity eight, competing in the seven seat each of the first two races…was moved to the varsity eight the final 10 races of the season, rowing five times in the three seat and five times in the seven seat…finished the season in the seven seat…also stroked the second varsity four at the Sacramento State Invitational…helped the varsity eight to a bronze medal at the WIRA Championships, and a sixth place showing (out of 33 entries) at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia.

As a freshman (2011): Competed with the novice eight in every spring race, primarily in the four seat…also competed with the varsity four (two seat) in five races, and stroked the novice four in the season opener…won a silver medal with the novice eight, and a gold medal with the varsity four at the WIRA Championships…the varsity four won gold despite fielding a boat that consisted of four novice rowers.

High School: A 2010 graduate of Del Oro High School in Loomis, Calif…played four years of volleyball and one season of track and field for the Eagles…won numerous team awards with the volleyball squad.

Personal: Parents are Nelson and Lise Busch…a business major…posted a 7:09.2 on the 2,000-meter ergometer test, the fourth fastest time on the team.
