GOLD RIVER, Calif. -- Sacramento State competed three boats in Saturday's Pacific Coast Rowing Championships (PCRC's) on Lake Natoma, and the Hornets took home bronze medals in all three of those events.
Sacramento State accumulated third-place grand final finishes in the open eight, collegiate four, and collegiate novice four competitions.
The PCRC's are open to all schools and clubs in the West Region, which include any rowing institution located in the states of Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado and Arizona. The regatta offers individual championships in every collegiate rowing category not offered in tomorrow's Pacific-12 Conference Championships.
Complete results and lineups from each of Sacramento State's races are below.
A decent-sized portion of Sacramento State's squad was on the East Coast as the team's varsity eight placed sixth in the grand final (ahead of 26 other entries) at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia. The rest of the team competed at the PCRC's.
Today marked the season finale for Sacramento State. The Hornets completed a successful 2012 campaign in which the team medaled in each of the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship's four most prestigious races (varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four and novice eight) for the second consecutive season. The WIRA's serve as Sacramento State's conference championship regatta.
