SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Sacramento State senior rower Sarah Pivonka accumulated five medals (one gold, one silver and three bronze) at an assortment of regattas this past summer, including the USRowing Club National Championships, the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta and the USRowing U-23 World Championship Trials.
The fourth-year senior, who was a first team all-conference selection last year, competed for Philadelphia's Vesper Boat Club and took home at least one medal at all three regattas. If you combine her performance at all three regattas from the summer of 2010 when she competed for the Pennsylvania Athletic Club Rowing Association, Pivonka has racked up a combined 12 medals over the last two summers.
This year's USRowing U-23 World Championship Trials took place June 27-29 at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J., the USRowing Club National Championships took place July 13-17 at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, Ind., and the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta was Aug. 2-7 in St. Catharines, Ontario.
