As a senior (2012): A first team all-WIRA selection for the second straight year after competing with the varsity eight in every spring race…also a team co-captain, and voted the team’s most outstanding rower…became the 11th Hornet to receive all-WIRA accolades on multiple occasions since the program gained intercollegiate status in 1995…sat at stroke in all 12 spring races with the varsity eight…stroked the boat to a bronze medal at the WIRA Championships, and a sixth place showing (out of 33 entries) at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia…never missed a regatta during her four-year career, rowing with the varsity eight her final three years and the novice eight her freshman season…won a medal at the WIRA Championships all four years of her career, accumulating three bronze medals (2009, 2011, 2012) and a gold in 2010…the 2009 bronze came as a member of the novice eight.

As a junior (2011): A first team all-WIRA selection after competing in the seven seat with the varsity eight in every spring race…won a bronze medal with the Hornets’ top boat at the WIRA Championships…also sat at bow with the varsity four at the season-opening Sacramento State Invitational.

As a sophomore (2010): Competed with the varsity eight in every spring race in both the three and five seats…sat at five during each of the team’s final 10 races…helped the varsity eight to a WIRA championship, the program’s first gold medal at the event since 2006…also helped the Hornets’ top boat to a Varsity Heavyweight Eight championship at the Dad Vail Regatta, the program’s second gold at the event in school history.

As a freshman (2009): Competed with the novice eight in each of the boat’s final eight races of the spring, including six races at bow and two races in the seven seat…sat at bow with the novice eight’s bronze medal winning performance at the WIRA Championships…that marked the first time the boat had medaled in the event since 2006…also sat at bow with the varsity four in two races…competed three times with the novice four (twice at bow, once at three) and once with the second novice four (two seat).

Personal: A government major…has a personal-best 7:23.7 on the 2,000-meter erg test…in the summer of 2011, as a member of Philadelphia’s Vesper Boat Club, she piled up five medals at the U-23 World Championship Trials (bronze in the lightweight quad), USRowing Club National Championships (bronze in the intermediate lightweight double) and the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta (gold in the senior lightweight eight; silver in the U-23 lightweight eight; bronze in the U-23 lightweight double)… if you combine her performance at all three 2011 regattas with the summer of 2010 when she competed for the Pennsylvania Athletic Club Rowing Association, Pivonka racked up a combined 12 medals over two summers…in 2010, she took home at least one medal from all three regattas mentioned above, which included four golds and three bronzes.
