As a senior (2012): Competed with the second varsity eight in every regatta except the San Diego Crew Classic…raced in the three seat five times, the four seat on two occasions, and once at bow…won a silver medal in the bow seat with the second varsity eight at the WIRA Championships…also won bronze with the boat at the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships…competed in the three seat with the varsity four at the San Diego Crew Classic…recipient of National Scholar-Athlete Award honors…the award is given to rowers from across the nation with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average.
As a junior (2011): Did not compete during the spring because of illness.
As a sophomore (2010): Competed with the second varsity eight in every race during the spring…began the season in the five seat, before racing at three for each of the final 10 races…helped the JV8 to a second-place finish in the JV Heavyweight Eight final at the Dad Vail Regatta…that marked the first time Sacramento State had entered a JV boat at the prestigious regatta.
Prior to Sacramento State: Rowed for Santa Clara during the 2008-09 academic year…competed in the five seat with the Broncos’ second varsity eight.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Sacramento’s Loretto High School…competed in track and field, cross country, and diving…a member of the national honor society all four years of high school…owner of numerous academic awards, including being named a California Scholarship Federation Life Member.
Personal: Parents are Edward and Elizabeth Heidig…a nursing major.
