HOLLY HOPKINS NAMED FIRST TEAM ALL-REGION; FOUR ROWERS RECEIVE SCHOLAR-ATHLETE HONORS
Sacramento State senior Holly Hopkins earned first team all-West Region honors, it was announced today by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).

ROWING WINS DAD VAIL REGATTA FOR THE SECOND TIME IN SCHOOL HISTORY
The Sacramento State women’s varsity eight posted a 2,000-meter winning time of 7:02.52 to claim the Women’s Varsity Heavyweight Eight championship at the Dad Vail Regatta Saturday afternoon on a windy Schuylkill River.

ROWING ADVANCES VARSITY EIGHT AND SECOND VARSITY EIGHT TO DAD VAIL SEMIFINALS
The Sacramento State women’s varsity eight and second varsity eight both won their heats during the first day of the Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River, and will advance to the semifinals in their respective events tomorrow morning.

Despite entering the weekend as the No. 4 seed, Sacramento State’s varsity eight won its first conference championship since 2006 with a 2,000-meter time of 6:56.5 in the final day of the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) Championships.

For the second straight year, the Hornet women’s rowing team will compete in the Lake Natoma Invitational this weekend at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center. Racing will take place on Saturday morning and afternoon, as well as Sunday morning.

UC Davis (6:38.06) climbed back from a three-quarter boat’s length deficit over the final 400 meters to edge Sacramento State (6:38.21) by less than two tenths of a second in women’s rowing action Saturday morning at the Port of Sacramento.

The Sacramento State women’s rowing team placed sixth out of 19 boats in the Women’s Novice Eight event at the 22nd-annual Newport Autumn Rowing Festival Sunday afternoon at the Newport Aquatic Center.

The Sacramento State women’s rowing team took home a fifth place and a pair of sixth place finishes in its three events during the Head of the American Saturday morning on Lake Natoma.

TRACEY TALLMAN NAMED ASSISTANT ROWING COACH
Former St. Lawrence University assistant and Minnesota student-athlete Tracey Tallman was named assistant rowing coach at Sacramento State, it was announced by head coach Mike Connors today.
