SACRAMENTO STATE TO HOST TWO NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 2007 1/18/2007 Sacramento State’s impressive run as a leader in hosting NCAA Championship events will continue in 2007 as the Hornets host two more national championships. Action will explode out of the starting blocks at the Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex, June 6-9, as Sacramento State (along with its championships partner – the Sacramento Sports Commission) host the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  The event will mark the fourth time in the last five years that the Hornets have hosted this prestigious meet. Championship action will move to Arco Arena when Sacramento State and the Sacramento Sports Commission host the NCAA Div. I Women’s Volleyball Championships, Dec. 13-15.  The event marks the first time in more than 20 years the volleyball championships will take place in Northern California. Amazingly, at year’s end, Sacramento State will have served as the host institution for seven NCAA championship events since 2003 and nine NCAA championships in the past decade.
