2011 Season
A first team all-Big Sky Conference selection after posting a 14-12 dual singles record, and 13-14 in doubles play…went 7-1 in Big Sky matches in both singles and doubles play…spent nearly the entire season as the Hornets’ No. 2 singles player, while primarily playing at No. 2 in doubles…was ranked as the 106th best player in the nation by the ITA midway through the season, and had a season-high five-match winning streak from March 11-26…defeated Patrick Schimmelbauer in straight sets at No. 2 in the Big Sky Tournament championship match…named the Big Sky Player of the Week on Feb. 9…in his three season with the Hornets, Smith is 55-26 in dual singles play and 46-30 in doubles play.
 
2010 Season
Named first team all-Big Sky Conference for the second straight year after posting a 23-6 dual singles record and 18-9 in doubles play…in singles, he was 2-0 at No. 2, 19-5 at No. 3 and 2-1 at No. 4…had three different singles winning streaks of at least five matches, including a season-best 10-match winning streak from Jan. 30-March 6…21 of his 23 wins came in straight sets…named Big Sky Player of the Week on Feb. 3…received his first national ranking by the ITA on April 20 and finished the year ranked 109th…went 7-4 against players from ranked teams…his 18-9 doubles record came with three different partners, including a 10-4 mark with Holden Ching…had a pair of doubles wins with Tim Lantin at the Big Sky Tournament…in Big Sky matches, he was 7-1 in both singles and doubles play.
 
2009 Season
A first team all-Big Sky Conference selection as a freshman after going 18-8 in singles play during the spring season, including 7-0 against opponents from the Big Sky Conference…that includes a 6-1 mark at No. 2, 6-3 at No. 3, 4-2 at No. 4 and 2-2 at No. 5…began the season as the Hornets’ No. 5 singles player, but worked his way up to No. 2…won 11 straight singles matches before falling to Stanford’s Ryan Thacher in the first round of the NCAA Tournament…eight of the wins during the winning streak came in straight sets…won 15 of his last 17 singles matches after beginning the season 3-6…in doubles play, he was equally impressive, posting a 15-7 mark, including 5-0 against Big Sky foes…played with two different partners, primarily with Artur Klimenka where the duo went 13-4.

Prior to Sacramento State
Was one of the top recruits in the country...tabbed as a five-star blue chip recruit by TennisRecruiting.net, and was ranked 24th nationally and eighth in the Southwest Region...ranked as high as 20th nationally and seventh in the tennis RPI...last season, he was 36-17 overall, including a 23-8 mark against four and five-star opponents...did not play high school tennis, opting to showcase his skills in national tournaments...in 2006, he won the Copperbowl Tournament in Tucson, Ariz...that year, he also represented Northern California at Intersectionals in Louisiana, where he played No. 1 for the region and went undefeated...also was a semifinalist at the 2006 Super National Clay Court Championships in Maryland...a long-time veteran of the national circuit, Smith played his first tournament at the age of 8...was ranked fourth in the nation for 16-year old boys in 2006.
