MEN'S TENNIS ADDS ON TO WINNING STREAK WITH A 7-0 SWEEP OF NEVADA

Javier Millan was one of five Hornets to win in singles and doubles in a 7-0 blanking of Nevada.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State men's tennis team extended its winning streak to three matches, sweeping Nevada, 7-0, Monday afternoon at the Spare Time Indoor Tennis Center.
In a switch from the norm, the team's opened with singles play and the Hornets swept each of the six matches. Daniel Diaz posted the first victory of the day, downing Phillip Hinojosa, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 6.
Javier Millan was next with a 6-4, 6-1, victory over Nathan Reix at No. 5 and was followed by a 6-1, 6-2 win from Jason Smith at No. 2 against Kristian Kuharzky. The deciding point in the match came from Marko Starcevic who defeated Victor Ouvrard, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3.
The Hornets continued their momentum at No. 1 with a 6-0, 6-2, win from 26th-ranked Kiryl Harbatsiuk who improved to 13-2 on the season. The final victory was a 6-3, 6-4, decision from Josh Lorentzen at No. 4.
In doubles play, Lorentzen and Diaz combined to defeat Kyle Walker and Hinojosa, 8-5, at No. 3. Blake Emery teamed with Javier Millan for the first time this season and won, 8-5, at No. 2. Sacramento State completed the sweep with a 8-5 victory from Jason Smith and Marko Starceivc at No. 1 over Wessim Derbel and Kuharszaky.
The Hornets jumped back into action on Wednesday, March 16, against Northern Colorado. The match will take place at Rio Del Oro Racquet Club at 1 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, check hornetsports.com for scheduling changes.
