COSTA MESA, Calif. --- The Sacramento State men''s tennis team picked up an 8-1 victory over Vanguard on Thursday. The Hornets won all three doubles points and took five of the six singles matches in the win.The match opened with an 8-2 win by Junaid Hossain and Gabriel Loredo at No. 1. The team of Warwick Foy and Ramon Perez beat Gregory Chevalier and Thomas Frank, 8-2, at No. 2. The final win came at No. 3 where Hague Van Dille and Paul Komorniczak earned an 8-5 win over William Storm and Michael Martin.
In singles play, Dieter Weislmaier earned the Lions'' lone point with a 6-7, 6-4 (10-1) win over Hossain at No. 1. Loredo defeated Chevalier, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2. Foy earned a three-set win over Andreas Reckziegel at No. 3. At No. 4, Thomas Morton beat Strom, 6-3, 6-4. Perez downed Frank, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5 and Komorniczak earned the final win with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Martin at No. 6.
