The Hornets, who improved to 4-6 this season, played each of the three matches at the Sacramento State Tennis Courts, the first time the team has played on campus this season. The Hornets played a doubleheader on Saturday, knocking off Saint Mary’s, 4-2, before coming back later in the day to defeat Northern Colorado, 6-0. The doubles matches were not played in both matches because Sacramento State had already scored the necessary four points to clinch victory. On Sunday, Pacific snapped the Hornets’ modest two-game winning streak with a 5-2 victory.

Saturday’s matches marked the first at home for the Hornets since Feb. 6, as the team had played each of its last six matches on the road.

All 10 players on Sacramento State’s roster appeared in at least one match over the weekend, as Warwick Foy (2-0), Michael Thomsen (2-0), Matt Jones (1-0), Ramon Perez (1-0), Assad Malik (1-0) and William McAlister (1-0) each posted undefeated records in singles play. Thomas Morton (2-1) and Juniad Hossain (1-2) were the only Hornets to appear in all three contests during the weekend. Joakim Rydberg (1-1) and Peter Farkas (0-2) rounded out the group of Sacramento State players.

Sacramento State hits the road next week for its first two Big Sky matches of the season at Weber State (March 19) and Idaho State (March 20). After those matches, Sacramento State will embark upon a season-long five-game homestand.
