FOLSOM, Calif. --- The Sacramento State women's tennis team won five of the six singles matches en route to a 5-2 win over UC Davis Friday afternoon at SpareTime Indoor Courts.The victory improved the Hornets to 11-5. The Aggies dropped to 7-9.
UC Davis opened the match by winning two of the three singles matches to take a 1-0 lead. The Aggies won both the second and third doubles match while the Sacramento State tandem of Ann Roslund and Roberta Fessenko won the top doubles match, 8-4.
In singles play, the Hornets did not lose a set. The team's lone loss came at No. 2 where Roslund retired against Gretchen Schantz.
At No. 1, Fessenko downed Janice Salomon, 6-3, 6-0.
The Hornets will next be in action on Sunday, April 6, against Hawaii-Pacific. Both the men's and women's teams will take on HPU at SpareTime. Both matches are scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
