Sacramento State began the day by winning the doubles point by winning two of the three doubles matches. In the No. 1 doubles match, senior Sherif Zaher and freshman Matthew Jones defeated Niclas Otte and Fredrik Jeppsson, 8-2. Senior Fabio Jesus and freshman Peter Farkas defeated Junaid Hossain and Gernot Kerschbaumer, 8-4. Sophomore Nick Sheehan and senior Josh Price lost their match to Maxime Lacroix and Neil Kadota, 8-5.

In singles play, Zaher defeated Hossain at the No. 1 position, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3, to run his team-leading singles record to 11-6. Jesus, playing in the No. 2 position, was defeated by Otte, 6-3, 7-6. Jones won his No. 3 singles over Lacroix, 6-1, 6-4. Abbou runs his singles record on the year to 10-7, with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 win over Kerschbaumer. Sheehan lost to Jeppsson, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 5 spot. Farkas won his No. 6 match with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Greg Rietsch.

Sacramento State returns to action this Friday, April 19, against Northern Arizona at the Big Sky Conference Pacific Regional, hosted by Weber State. The Hornets, who are the defending Big Sky champions, will look to wrap up the No. 1 seed out of the Pacific Regional for the fourth straight year.
