Sacramento State competed, including Hermont Legaspi winning the first set over the 68th-ranked player in the nation, but the Hornets eventually fell to 15th-ranked Cal, 4-0, on Sunday morning at the Hellman Tennis Complex.
Sacramento State competed all eight players on its roster at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships over the weekend in Stanford, and six of those players were victorious in singles and/or doubles play. All matches took place at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium on the Stanford campus.
All eight Sacramento State men’s tennis players participated in the Aggie Invitational, held over the weekend at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. The event marked the first of four fall tournaments in which the Hornets will compete.
Sacramento State men’s tennis sophomore Abdulaziz Albayouk was selected to compete for his home country of Saudi Arabia in this year’s Davis Cup, and will become the second Hornet in school history to compete at the prestigious event.
