SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Cal State Northridge scored three first-period goals as the Matadors defeated the Sacramento State men''s soccer team 4-1 Wednesday afternoon at Hornet Soccer Field. The Hornets are now 2-5-2 overall while the Matadors raised their record to 6-1-1. The match was the second of a scheduled doubleheader with the Hornet women''s soccer team.

Cal State Northridge got on the board first in the 12th minute when Alec de Mattos collected a loose ball and struck a shot into the Hornet goal. Less than a minute later, Yossi Raz crossed a pass to Juan Guerrero for the Matadors'' second goal of the contest.
