DENVER, Colo. - Sacramento State had its three-match winning streak ended with a 1-0 loss at Denver on Friday afternoon.The Hornets are now 8-5-1 on the year and 3-3-0 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, while the Pioneers improve to 6-7-1 and 2-4-0 in league.
Thomas Flynn scored his fourth goal of the season in the 33rd minute to give Denver a 1-0 lead in the first half with a 22-yard shot to the bottom left corner.
The Pioneers outshot Sacramento State 15-5, with Oscar Sandoval leading the Hornets with two shots and Ryan Rhoads recording the team’s only shot on goal.
Sacramento State goalkeeper Matt McDougall made seven saves during the match while Denver goalkeeper Matt Bredhoft secured the shutout with one save.
The Hornets continue their final road trip of the season at Air Force on Sunday. The team will then return to Hornet Field, where it posts a 6-0-0 undefeated record, at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4.
