MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO SAN FRANCISCO, 6-0

Aaron Chandler scored in the first half and five other Dons tallied goals in the second as San Francisco defeated the Sacramento State men’s soccer team 6-0, Friday evening at Negoesco Stadium.

The Hornets fell to 2-7-1 on the year while the Dons improved to 5-6.

USF got on the board first in the 18th minute when Chandler took a head pass from Ben Stuart, dribbled by the defense, and scored.

In the second half, Paul Kaliszewski lofted a long shot over the head of senior goalkeeper Jeff Gibson in the 47th minute to make it 2-0. Later, Cameron Kovolos headed in a rebound in the 53rd minute and Mike Vargas recorded a goal in the 70th minute to make it 4-0.

Ben Villaflor and Matt Languis would each add scores in the 65th and 74th minute, respectively, to close out the scoring.

The Dons outshot Sacramento State 16-8 in the game.

Sacramento State will next travel to Santa Clara to face the Broncos on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m.
