AS A FRESHMAN (2006)
Demonstrated his ability to change the pace of a match during his freshman year...came off the bench in eight games and scored his first career gaols against Pacific Union on Sept. 24...has the ability to conduct the offense from the central midfield and can also add a dangerous scoring threat in the forward line with his speed...also has a dangerous free kick.
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2006 graduate of Sanger High School...played four seasons for the Apaches and served as the team’s offensive catalyst in the midfield...for three seasons, was named Sanger’s team captain and put away 10 goals while assisting on 13 as a senior in 2005...as a junior, was named all-county and all-league after leading Sanger to its first playoff appearance, netting 16 goals and adding 14 assists...as a sophomore, earned his first all-league selection after scoring a career-high 17 gaols with 10 assists...was also named team MVP that season...at the club level, played for the California Odyssey with current Hornet Ryan Kenny...helped lead the team to the Cal North State Cup championship, while taking second place at the Region IV championships...the Odyssey went 67-2-3 and finished as winners of the Super Y League Pacific Region Championship with Ochoa knocking in 17 goals and serving up 23 assists from 2004-05...with the Odyssey, he helped the team to the Super Y League Region Championship while also earning an ODP selection from 2003-04...also played football at Sanger...one of the most versatile players on the field, played quarterback, defensive back, kicker, punter, kick returner and punt returner...was an all-section choice at defensive back and was voted the Apaches’ offensive team MVP...recorded a 48-yard field goal, setting a new school record...also returned five consecutive kickoffs for touchdowns, setting another school record...as a senior, passed for 800 yards and rushed for 500 yards...on the defensive side of the ball, recorded 42 tackles and three interceptions...as a junior, rushed for 956 yards and recorded 62 tackles on defense, while scoring 13 touchdowns and tacking on six interceptions...set a school record with a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown...was an all-league selection and voted team MVP.
