CARRANZA NAMED FIRST-TEAM ALL FAR-WEST REGION

Ernesto Carranza became the first Hornet to be twice named to the All-Far West Region team.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -
Sacramento State's Ernesto Carranza was selected First-Team All-Far West Region, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced.

Carranza is the first Sacramento State player ever to be named to the All-Far West Regional Team twice. He was also selected last season.

The senior midfielder went on a ridiculous run in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and NCAA tournaments, scoring four goals and tallying four assists in five postseason games. He tied for second in the Hornets' record books with a six point game (2 goals, 2 assists) against Air Force in the MPSF quarterfinals.

He finished his senior season second on the team with 22 on seven goals and team-best eight assists.

Carranza set school records for assists (20), games played (82) and games started (81). He also moved into fourth all-time with 18 goals and second all-time with 54 career points.
