MEN’S SOCCER GETS FIRST CONFERENCE WIN, 2-1, AGAINST FRESNO STATE

FRESNO, Calif.— Men's Soccer (6-9-1) won its first game in the Mountain

Pacific Sports Federation Conference with a 2-1 win over Fresno State

(8-7-1, 1-5) Sunday afternoon at Bulldog Stadium.

The Hornets got on the board first with an unassisted goal in the 50th

minute by freshman forward David Fraser. Junior Forward Sean Luigs then

struck the eventual game winner in the 81st minute off an assist from

Fraser.

Fresno State made it close in the 83rd minute with a goal by forward

Ryan Katz after being set up by defender Curt Posey and midfielder Noah

Delgado to make it 2-1.

Hornet sophomore goalkeeper Joey Hills earned his third victory of the

season with four saves.

The team is now 1-5 in MPSF play and have won back-to-back contests for

the first time since a 2-0 start on Sept. 3.

After sixteen games, Sacramento State is geared for its best finish

since the team went 8-10-1 in the 1995 season.

The Hornets will play its final two games at Hornet Field where they

will host Air Force on Friday, Nov. 3, at 3 p.m. then finish the season

with a 1 p.m. contest against Denver on Sunday, Nov. 5.
