SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento State’s Jeff Buddenbohn has been invited to the U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team camp at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.Buddenbohn, who committed to the men’s soccer program on Feb. 3, was the first NSCAA adidas High Scholl All-American to sign with the program. He is also the first Hornet recruit to be invited to a national team camp in the program’s history. A 6’4” central defender out of St. Francis High School, in La Cañada, Calif., Buddenbohn will join the Hornets in the fall of 2005.
“It is a great experience for Jeff to be called in to the national team camp and it is also a great honor, “ Sacramento State head men’s soccer coach Michael Linenberger said. “Hopefully he can bring the experience he gains to the team when he joins us in the fall. It is also great for us as a program and hopefully it can pave the way for future players to be called into camps.”
Buddenbohn, from Sierra Madre, Calif., played on the Region IV ODP team the past three years and the Cal South ODP team the last four seasons.
The week-long camp began on Sunday and will feature the Under-18 team playing the Chivas USA reserve team on Tuesday and the Southern California SeaHorses of the Premier Development League on Saturday.
The camp includes 22 player from around the country.
