MEN’S SOCCER ANNOUNCES JOSH ZIMBRICH TO 2005 SIGNING CLASS

3/3/2005

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento State men''s soccer program signed Josh Zimbrich of Del Oro High School to a national letter of intent, it was announced today.

Zimbrich, who will enroll at Sacramento State in the fall, was named MVP of the Sierra Foothill League in 2003. He was also named to the Sacramento Bee’s All-Metro first team.

“Josh comes in with a lot of ODP (Olympic Development Program) experience and is an extremely fast, naturally left-footed player - two combinations that are hard to find,” Sacramento State head coach Michael Linenberger said. “We expect him to challenge for a starting spot at left midfield.”

Zimbrich played for the Region IV ODP team from 2001-03 and also played for the Cal North State ODP team from 2001-04.

With Zimbrich’s addition, the Hornets now boast a signing class of five for the fall of 2005. Sacramento State previously signed Jeff Buddenbohn of St. Francis High School, David Lopez of Piner High School,  Andrew Gangnuss of Amador Valley High School and Zach Tuss of Natomas High School.
