Sacramento State is yet to win a game on the road this year, most recently falling to UNLV, 2-1, on Oct. 29 and San Diego State, 2-1, Oct. 31.
Both of the Hornet goals were scored by sophomore Ryan Rhoads, who leads the team with seven, also has a team-high14 points. Sacramento State has also added a rematch with UC Davis on its schedule. Both teams had games canceled earlier in the season because of poor weather conditions and have decided to add an additional match for Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 2:30 p.m. The teams met on Sept. 26 at Aggie Field with UC Davis earning the 2-1 win. The game will be the final home match of the season.

Rhoads not only leads Sacramento State with seven goals, but he is second in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in goals and tied for fourth in the conference, averaging 1.0 points per game...junior midfielder Ricky Rodriguez is third in the MPSF with five assists...junior Matt McDougall leads the conference with 95 saves...McDougall’s save total ranks him first in single season save total in program history...McDougall is also ranked 11th in the nation with 5.94 saves per match...seniors Patrick Nelle and Marcos Mercado have both played in 68 career games, tying them at fifth in program history...Mercado also has 62 career starts, third in program history.
UPCOMING MATCHES
Sacramento State will host #8 New Mexico at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7 at Hornet Soccer Field. The Lobos (13-1-1, 7-1-1) are on a two game winning streak after defeating Denver, 4-1, and Air Force, 3-0, this past weekend. The Lobos are led by Jeff Rowland, who leads the MPSF with 17 goals and three assists. Also playing well for New Mexico is Lance Watson, who has six goals and three assists. The Lobos have shutout their opponents nine times this season, including a 3-0 win over Sacramento State on Oct. 10 at UNM Sports Complex. The Hornets’ final home match of the seaon will come against UC Davis (5-7-2) at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9. The Aggies are led by Ryan Shaw, who has scored seven goals and tallied two assists. Nicholas Lind has also been an offensive threat with five goals and one assist.
