FRESNO, Calif. -- Junior forward David Fraser recorded a goal in the 73rd minute to lead the Sacramento State men''s soccer team to a 1-1 tie with Fresno State, in double-overtime, Sunday afternoon in Bulldog Stadium. The Hornets are now 2-5-3 on the season while the Bulldogs'' record moves to 3-4-3. The match ends a three-game losing skid for the Hornets.Fresno State held the advantage early when Kupono Low scored the contest''s first goal in the 35th minute off of a penalty kick. Sacramento State pushed the game into extra periods when Fraser connected on a header from freshman Eric Martinez''s cross from the left side. For Fraser, a native of Danville, Calif., it was his second goal of the 2002 season. Each of his goals this season have sent contests into overtime for Sacramento State.
Neither team could take advantage in the overtime periods as two teams combined for seven shots during the extra frames.
Sacramento State will next host San Francisco on Friday, Oct. 11, at 4 p.m. at Hornet Soccer Field.
