SACRAMENTO, Calif.-- The men's soccer team announced the

signing of midfielder Ricky Rodriguez on Monday. Rodriguez, a

graduating senior from Vacaville High School, will enroll at

Sacramento State as a freshman in the fall.

The midfielder totaled a career 44 goals and 37 assists as a

three-year starter with the Bulldogs. He was named all-Monticello

Empire League after his junior and senior seasons.

Rodriguez also competed for the U-19 Cal-North State Cup

Champion River City Rush club team which reached the Western Region

Finals last year.

Rodriguez joins Patrick Nelle and Marcos Mercado as the

Hornets' first three signees of the year. He also joins his brother

Joel who signed with Sacramento State in 2000.
