MEN’S SOCCER SIGNS FORWARD TITUS WASHINGTON TO NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento State men's soccer program has signed Sage Creek High School senior Titus Washington to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Mike Linenberger announced Thursday.

Washington is a three-year player at Sage Creek High School as well as a three-year member of the LA Galaxy San Diego Elite. He is the only NLI signing in the early period for men's soccer.

A forward, Washington joined the Sage Creek High School team as a sophomore and had an immediate impact on his team. He was named Team Captain as a junior in for the 2017-2018 season and again as a senior for the 2018-19 season.

During his junior season and under first-year head coach Neal Keith, Washington helped lead his team to the CIF San Diego Sectional championship, scoring two goals as Sage Creek defeated Central, 4-1 for the title. Earlier in the season, he added two game-winning goals to help the team make its postseason push.

Washington also played three years for head coach Sean Gurley as a member of the LA Galaxy San Diego Elite club. Each year, Washington and his team captured a different tournament, winning the Pateodores Cup in 2016, the San Diego Surf Cup in 2017, and the Las Vegas Showcase in 2018. In each of his three seasons with the LA Galaxy SD Elite, Washington has scored at least 25 goals with at least 15 assists.

In addition to LA Galaxy SD Elite, Washington played four years for the San Diego Surf.

Linenberger on Titus: "Titus is a goal scorer, and we expect him to come in and have an immediate impact as a freshman. He has good size, strength and speed, and we think he will be a handful for defenders in the Big West Conference to deal with."

Personal: Parents are Alvin and Dana Washington...Plans to major in Business/Marketing...Hopes to tie in business/marketing with a career in sports business...Personal goal to become first member of the 20 goal/20 assist club at Sacramento State.
