MEN’S SOCCER’S KIKANOVIC NAMED TO NATIONAL TEAM OF THE WEEK

CULVER CITY, Calif. – Freshman forward Benji Kikanovic was named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week after his two-goal performance at CSU Bakersfield this past weekend.

Kikanovic is one of 11 players named to this week's team. Additionally, he is the only true freshman listed on the squad, as well.

Top Drawer Soccer's Men's Team of the Week: Sept. 4

This past Friday, Kikanovic scored two goals in Sacramento State's incredible 5-4 come-from-behind, overtime win at CSU Bakersfield.

Kikanovic scored his first goal just 24 seconds into the match to give the Hornets an immediate 1-0 lead. His second goal was the game-winner as he delivered in the 96th minute to give the Hornets the win.

Looking ahead, Kikanovic and the Hornets will transition from a week in which they played three matches (at Oregon State, at CSU Bakersfield, vs. San Jose State) to a week in which they will play just one match.

On Thursday, the Hornets will take on the Cal Golden Bears at the San Jose Earthquake's Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif.
