MEN’S SOCCER RANKED #9 IN LATEST FAR WEST REGION POLL

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — United Soccer Coaches released its weekly region rankings for the week of August 28 and ranked Sacramento State men's soccer number nine in the Far West region.

The ranking comes after a very challenging weekend in Oregon in which the Hornets tied the #22 ranked Portland Pilots, 1-1. Three days later, the Hornets took a tie against the Pac-12's Oregon State into the 69th minute before the Beavers scored the game-winner.

The Hornets are joined by UC Santa Barbara and UC Davis as the three Big West programs to be ranked among the top 10 in the region.

The 2018 season continues for the Hornets on Friday as they play their third straight road match to open the season. Sacramento State will take on CSU Bakersfield Friday night at 5 pm.
