SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Freshmen forward Justin Bedig was ranked 79 on Top Drawer Soccer's latest Freshman Top 100 Rankings. The midseason update to the rankings came out just last week and features Sacramento State's own Bedig.
Through 16 games this season, Bedig has amassed 13 points, tied for the team lead. He has three goals and seven assists while starting all 16 of the team's games as a freshman. His seven assists are currently the third most in a single season in men's soccer program history. He is just two back of the all-time single-season leader, Fernando Cabadas, who tallied nine assists in 2009.
Bedig and the men's soccer team take on UC Santa Barabara and UC Davis this week. Although the team has already locked up a postseason berth, they have the potential to lock up homefield advantage with a strong week.
