MEN'S SOCCER TAKES DOWN UVU IN COME-FROM-BEHIND WIN

OREM, Utah — Trailing 1-0 at the half, the Sacramento State men's soccer team rallied to score two goals late in the second period to record a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Utah Valley Friday night at Clyde Field in Orem.

The Hornets (3-3-0) scored twice within eight minutes late in the second half thanks to goals by both Josh Dull (1) and Brad Bumgarner (1). Dull rebounded a shot by Dennis Cole, scoring with his left foot into the right side, tying the game in the 70th minute.

Bumgarner delivered the game-winner just eight minutes later, taking advantage of UVU confusion on a cross into the box. The goals were the first of the season for both Dull and Bumgarner.

UVU's (3-2-0) lone goal came in the 31st minute as Paul Hoffmeister scored on a header following a free kick from Karson Payton. The Wolverines entered play tonight having received eight votes in the latest Men's Soccer Division I Top 25 rankings.

Sacramento State finished the game having outshot UVU 11-7. Both teams had five shots on goal. Dull and Bumgarner each had two shots on goal, as did Cole. James Del Curto earned the victory, playing all 90 minutes in goal, and had four saves for the third straight match.

The Sacramento State men's soccer team plays next on Sunday at 10:30 am against Northern Illinois. The match will take place at UVU's Clyde Field.
