MEN’S SOCCER PLAYS AT UC SANTA BARBARA WEDNESDAY NIGHT
Big West North Division play continues Wednesday night as Sacramento State (4-8-2, 2-3-0 Big West) heads down the coast to face UC Santa Barbara (6-6-2, 2-2-1 Big West) at 7 p.m.

MEN’S SOCCER DROPS COMPETITIVE CONTEST VS. CAL POLY
Sacramento State had a 16-15 shot advantage and had numerous quality scoring chances but, after the Hornets tied the game at 1-1 in the 62nd minute, Cal Poly went back ahead and finished a 3-1 win on Saturday at Hornet Field.

MEN’S SOCCER VS. UC DAVIS TO BE PLAYED AT BONNEY FIELD OCTOBER 25
The Sacramento State men’s soccer team and Sacramento Republic FC announced that the Big West game between the Hornets and UC Davis on Saturday Oct. 25 will be played under the lights at Bonney Field.

MEN’S SOCCER OPENS BIG WEST NORTH PLAY SATURDAY VS CAL POLY
After a strong start to Big West play going 2-2 against the South Division, the Sacramento State men’s soccer team (4-7-2, 2-2-0 Big West) returns home to open Big West North Division play at 3 p.m. Saturday hosting Cal Poly (7-3-3, 2-1-1 Big West).

MEN’S SOCCER DOWNED BY #11 UC IRVINE 2-0
Sacramento State limited No. 11 UC Irvine to just two shots on goal in a scoreless first half but the Anteaters broke through with two goals early in the second half and finished off a 2-0 win on Saturday night.

MEZ, DEL CURTO LEAD MEN’S SOCCER AGAIN IN 1-0 WIN OVER CSUN
In similar fashion to last Saturday’s 1-0 double-overtime win over Cal State Fullerton, Sacramento State got another winning goal from senior Chimdum Mez and redshirt freshman James Del Curto had another brilliant night in goal as the Hornets beat CSUN 1-0 on Thursday night in Northridge.

MEN’S SOCCER ON THE ROAD TO FACE BIG WEST FOES CSUN, #11 UC IRVINE
Coming off a thrilling 1-0 double overtime win over Cal State Fullerton the Sacramento State men’s soccer team (3-6-2, 1-1-0 Big West) looks for more success on the road this week but faces a daunting schedule. The Hornets will play at CSUN (4-6-1, 0-2-0 Big West), a 2013 NCAA Tournament team, at 7 p.m. Thursday and at No. 11 UC Irvine (8-1-2, 0-1-1 Big West) at 7 p.m. Saturday.

MEZ THE OVERTIME HERO AGAIN AS MEN’S SOCCER BEATS CAL STATE FULLERTON
Sacramento State senior forward Chimdum Mez out-jumped Cal State Fullerton goalkeeper David Elias Rodriguez in front of the Titan goal and headed home the winner goal just under the crossbar in a 1-0 double overtime victory on Saturday at Hornet Field.

MEN’S SOCCER DEFEATED BY UC RIVERSIDE IN BIG WEST OPENER
UC Riverside got on an early run and never looked back in the first half, scoring four times to take a 4-0 halftime lead that ended up being the final score in a Highlander win over the Hornets on Thursday at Hornet Field.

MEN’S SOCCER OPENS BIG WEST CONFERENCE PLAY AT HOME THURSDAY
The Sacramento State men’s soccer team (2-5-2) commences play in the Big West Conference this week with a pair of home games. The Hornets will face UC Riverside (1-6-1) at 4 p.m. Thursday and Cal State Fullerton (4-3-2) at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hornet Field.

MEN’S SOCCER ENDS NON-CONFERENCE PLAY WITH LOSS AT BAKERSFIELD
Bakersfield took a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick in the first half and scored four more times in the second half to defeat the Hornets 5-0 on Sunday afternoon.

MEN’S SOCCER PLAYS SAINT MARY’S TO A 1-1 DRAW IN PHYSICAL BATTLE
In a tremendously physical game with 10 yellow cards and 37 fouls whistled Sacramento State took a lead late in the first half on a goal by senior Chimdum Mez before Saint Mary’s drew even in the 84th minute and the game ended in a 1-1 draw in double overtime.

MEN’S SOCCER CONCLUDES HOMESTAND FRIDAY VS. SAINT MARY’S
In the seventh and final game of its program record long homestand the Sacramento State men’s soccer team (2-4-1) hosts Saint Mary’s (5-2-0) on Friday at 4 p.m. The Hornets will also play at Bakersfield (5-1-1) at 1 p.m. Sunday to conclude the non-conference portion of their schedule with Big West play opening next week.

MEN’S SOCCER DEFEATED BY AIR FORCE 1-0 ON LATE GOAL
In a mostly even matchup where Sacramento State had a plethora of quality scoring chances it was Air Force that was finally able to find the net with a goal in the 85th minute to pick up a 1-0 win at Hornet Field on Sunday.

MEN’S SOCCER TOPPED IN OVERTIME BY GRAND CANYON
After 97 minutes of scoreless soccer Grand Canyon senior midfielder Kyle Summerhill put home a rebound of a shot stopped by Hornet goalkeeper Philip Bru to give the visiting Antelopes a 1-0 win on Friday afternoon at Hornet Field.

MEN’S SOCCER CONTINUES HOMESTAND WITH COPA DE CAUSEWAY
Sacramento State (2-2-1) brings a two game winning streak into play this week while continuing its program-record seven game homestand. The Hornets will host Grand Canyon (1-3-0) at 1:30 p.m. Friday and Air Force (3-0-2) at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Sacramento State senior forward Chimdum Mez has been named the Big West Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Sacramento State scored on each of its first two shots of the game and limited Cleveland State to just two shots on goal in the contest in a 2-0 shutout on Sunday at Hornet Field.

Sacramento State freshman Cylus Sandoval scored his first career goal in the first half and, after San Jose State drew even early in the second half, Hornet senior Chimdum Mez scored what ended up being the winning goal as the Hornets earned a 2-1 victory over San José State on Friday at Hornet Field.

In the midst of the longest homestand in program history, the Sacramento State men’s soccer team (0-2-1) returns to Hornet Field to host San José State (1-3-0) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will also host Cleveland State (2-2-0) for the first time ever on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Sacramento State trailed 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2 but kept coming back to force overtime and earn a 3-3 draw in double-overtime in its home opener against San Diego on Friday at Hornet Field.

The Sacramento State men’s soccer team (0-1-0) opens its home schedule with a pair of games against West Coast Conference (WCC) teams this weekend, hosting San Diego (1-0-1) at 5:00 p.m. Friday and Loyola Marymount (0-1-1) at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Both games will close double headers with the Sacramento State women’s soccer team.

MEN’S SOCCER CONTROLS PLAY BUT DRAWS WITH PACIFIC 0-0 IN EXHIBITION
Sacramento State created numerous opportunities throughout the contest, particularly in the second half and in overtime, but Pacific goalkeeper Josh Adachi made eight stops with some highlight reel saves to keep the Hornets at bay in a 0-0 double-overtime tie.

After a week of training the Sacramento State men's soccer team will continue its preparation for the 2014 season with an exhibition game at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pacific. The match will be the lone exhibition contest for the Hornets before they open the regular season on Sunday, Aug. 31, at Temple.
