MEN'S GOLF FINISHES SECOND; WEIR TIES FOR THIRD AT BRAVEHEART CLASSIC

Jordan Weir tied for third place behind a career best 54-hole total.

BEAUMONT, Calif. — The Sacramento State men's golf team finished second at the Braveheart Classic for its highest finish of the spring season, Tuesday at the Oak Valley Golf Club.

The Hornets finished one stroke behind Cal State Fullerton. The Titans shot 2-under as a team to spark their comeback during the third round and finished with a total of 859. Sacramento State was 9-over on the day and ended at 860. San Francisco (861) was third while Cal Lutheran and Utah Valley each totaled 878 to tie for fourth.

Jordan Weir led the team by tying for third place with a 54-hole career best of 212. Weir shot 69-70-73 to beat his previous low of 215. The finish was his second top three showing this season.

Cameron Rappleye also cracked the top 10 by tying for seventh place after shooting 72-66-75-213. Rappleye now has three top 10 showings this year.

Ryan Williams provided the second lowest score for the team during the round with a 74. Williams finished tied for 11th place with a total of 69-72-74-215.

Grant Rappleye tied for 23rd following rounds of 72-73-78-223 and Jake Johnson tied for 28th at 75-74-75-224.

Ji Hwan Park of San Francisco finished one stroke ahead of Utah Valley's Brayden Eriksen to become the medalist. Park shot 71-67-72-210 while Eriksen totaled 65-73-73-211.

Sacramento State will next compete at the Wincherster Classic in Auburn, Calif., beginning on Friday, April 20.
