WEIR TIES FOR SECOND TO LEAD MEN'S GOLF TO A FOURTH-PLACE FINISH AT WOLF PACK CLASSIC

STATELINE, Nev. — Sacramento State sophomore Jordan Weir tied for second and the Hornets finished fourth at the Wolf Pack Classic on Tuesday at Edgewood Golf Club.

Weir recorded his highest finish at Sacramento State after shooting 75-69-73-217. His total placed him two strokes off the total of medalist Jay Myers of San Jose State.

Sacramento State shot a consistent 299-297-296-892. San Jose State won the team title after shooting 295-300-286-881. Host Nevada was second (886) with Loyola Marymount (891) third.

On Tuesday, Grant Rappleye matched Weir for the team lead with a 73. Cameron Rappleye and Jake Johnson each shot 75 and freshman Eric Taylor carded a 76.

Overall, Cameron Rappleye and Taylor tied for 28th. Rappleye shot 73-78-75-226 while Taylor had two rounds of 75 and a 76. Grant Rappleye tied for 40th (76-80-73-229) and Jake Johnson tied for 56th (82-75-75-232).

Sacramento State returns to action on Sept. 10 at the Wildcat Invitational in Layton, Utah.
