NORTON, DeBORBA, RAPPLEYE CARRY MEN'S GOLF TO SEVENTH PLACE TIE

PATTERSON, Calif. — The trio of Grant NortonScott DeBorba and Cameron Rappleye combined to shoot 1-over during the final round of the Colorado Invitational at Stevenson Ranch on Tuesday. Norton and DeBorba each were even at 72 while Rappleye carded a 73.

As a team, the Hornets shot 297 over the final 18 holes and finished tied for seventh place with a three-round total of 890. Nevada rallied to win the team title. The Wolf Pack shot 292-288-289-869 to win the event by nine strokes over host Colorado.

Norton, who tied for second in the tournament with 13 birdies, tied for fifth place overall with three strong rounds of 70-74-72-216. DeBorba overcame a rough first round to tie for 22nd overall. The senior shot 77-73-72-222 and led the team over the final two rounds.

Rappleye completes the three leaders. The freshman shot 71-74-73-218 and tied for eighth place.

Sacramento State also saw freshman Jake Johnson (77-78-80-235) tie for78th and senior Jeremy Harris (76-79-82-237) tie for 80th.

Colorado’s Pat Gordy was the medaslist after shooting 69-68-71-208/
