Norton finished the three-round tournament at 1-over with rounds of 74, 69, and 74. His total of 217 was 10 strokes behind medalist Brian Locke of Loyola Marymount and made him one of eight golfers to tie for fourth.

As a team, Sacramento State placed eighth out of 14 schools. The Hornets shot 308 on Tuesday and finished with a total of 903. Loyola Marymount fired rounds of 292-290-291-873 to defeat Cal Poly by one stroke. UC Santa Barbara (880), Southern Utah (882) and Portland (895) completed the top five.

Norton, who prepped at Sheldon HS, finished 12 strokes better than his closest teammate. Kyle Candlish was second on the squad at 74-76-79-229 to tie for 39th. Jeremy Harris was two strokes back (72-80-79-231) to tie for 43rd and Scott DeBorba shot 82-74-76-232 to tie for 48th. Cody Miller completed the Sacramento State golfers with rounds of 86-74-80-230 which tied for 68th.
