JAKE JOHNSON NAMED AMERICA SKY GOLFER OF THE WEEK

NAPERVILLE, Ill. —
After playing a rare five rounds in six days, Sacramento State's Jake Johnson was named the America Sky Conference Men's Golfer of the Week.

Johnson began his run by winning the Lamkin Grip/Cal Poly Challenge on March 24-25. The junior shot a 6-under 66 in the final round to pull away from the field and win by three strokes.

Three days later, Sacramento State competed at the highly-competitive OGIO Santa Barbara Invitational where he tied for 20th with rounds of 75-79-71-225.

This season, Johnson ranks second on the team with an average of 73.41 per round and leads Sacramento State with five rounds in the 60s.

The Hornets will next compete at the Braveheart Classic on April 11-12 in Beaumont, Calif.
