MEN'S GOLF SIGNS ERIC AND OWEN TAYLOR TO NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State men's golf team has signed Eric and Owen Taylor to National Letters of Intent, it was announced today. The twin brothers will enroll as freshmen in the fall of 2010.

"I believe Eric and Owen will be great additions to our team," Sacramento State Assistant Coach Christopher Hall said. "They are good guys who have both played well in some high-level events."

Playing on the PGA Southern California Junior Tour, the pair combined for 12 top-10 finishes in 2010. Eric claimed back-to-back victories in September with win s at the El Prado Fall Challenge and The Links at Victoria Fall Challenge. During that stretch, he also had three straight rounds of 70. Eric also tied for second at the Cal State Boys Qualifier and the Casta del Sol Fall Challenge.

Owen Taylor tied for medalist honors at the Cal State Boys Qualifier with a round of 70. He also finished third at the Bridgestone Metro Summer Championship after shooting 78-73-151.

In 2009, Eric finished among the top 10 in four tournaments while Owen had three top 10 showings.

The duo, from San Juan Capistrano, Calif., also played on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). In 2010, Eric had three top 10 finishes with a best round of 69. Owen finished among the top 10 once.
