RAPPLEYE MATCHES CAREER BEST AT PALOUSE COUGAR COLLEGIATE

PULLMAN, Wash. — Junior Grant Rappleye continued his hot play and finished tied for 10th place at the Palouse Cougar Collegiate on Tuesday. Rappleye shot 70-71-70-211 to tie his career high and the third-best 54-hole score in school history.

Sacramento State finished in 12th place as a team with a total of 286-295-293-874. Host Washington State easily claimed the team title with a three-round total of 827. The Cougars were followed by Idaho (839), Portland (847), Santa Clara (850) and San Jose State (855) in the top five.

On Tuesday, Rappleye's 70 led the team by three strokes. Freshman Jordan Weir carded a round of 73 for the second lowest score. The team also counted a 74 from Jake Johnson and a 76 from Cameron Rappleye.

Overall, Johnson tied for 42nd at 67-79-74-220. Cameron Rappleye tied for 52nd with round of 75-70-76-221. Weir tied for 72nd at 76-77-73-226 and Kyle Candlish tied for 81st (74-77-79-230).

Idaho had the top two individual finishers as Damian Telles (201) edged Jarred Bossio (203).

Sacramento State will next compete at the Wolfpack Classic beginning on Oct. 4.
