GRANT RAPPLEYE 4-UNDER THROUGH FIRST TWO ROUNDS OF KAUAI COLLEGIATE

LIHUE, Hawaii — Led by sophomore Grant Rappleye's rounds of 69 and 71, the Sacramento State men's golf team is in sixth place following the first two round of the Kauai Collegiate Invite at the Puakea Golf Club on Tuesday.
The Hornets have a two-round total of 290-288-587 and are 28 strokes behind San Diego who holds a 23 stroke lead over James Madison (286-287) and Hawaii (289-284). Gonzaga (290-285-575) and Utah (285-291-576) are fourth and fifth, respectively.
Rappleye is tied for eighth overall through 36 holes. His opening round of 69 was matched by fellow sophomore Jake Johnson on Monday. Johnson added a second round 74 and is tied for 17th with a total of 143. Cameron Rappleye is tied for 28th overall at 77-71-148.
Kyle Candlish shot two rounds of 75 and is tied for 32nd while Nick Neal is tied for 50th at 83-72-155.
The individual lead is held by San Diego's Ben Murray who shot 66-68-134. His is two strokes ahead of Utah's Camden Nicholson (67-69) and fellow Torero Joseph Harrison (69-68) who is competing as an individual.
The tournament will conclude with the third round on Wednesday.
