MEN'S GOLF MAINTAINS LEAD HEADING INTO FINAL ROUND

GREELEY, Colo. — The Sacramento State men's golf team maintained its overall lead following the second round of the Div. I Independent Golf Championships on Saturday.

The Hornets shot 287 on Saturday and are six strokes ahead of Northern Colorado with a two-round total of 570. The host Bears rallied after shooting 296 during the first day, to post an 8-under 280 in the second round. Utah Valley State (581), Weber State (587), North Dakota State (589), South Dakota State (591), and Idaho State (592) complete the field.

Individually, Sacramento State was paced by Scott DeBorba during the second round. DeBorba bounced back from a first-round 76 to fire a 2-under 70 and is tied for 12th. Freshman Grant Norton, who led after the first round, is now tied for second after shooting 72. Norton's total of 140 is one stroke behind NDSU's Eric Johnson who is atop the leaderboard.

Cody Miller and Jeremy Harris are both tied for eighth. Miller shot an even-par 72 on Saturday while Harris carded a 73. The pair are four strokes off the lead at 143.

Kyle Candlish completes the five-member team at 74-75-149 to tie for 22nd.
