SAN JOSE, Calif. --- The Sacramento State men''s golf team finished in 11th place at the SCU Invitational on Tuesday at the Silver Creek Valley Country Club.
The Hornets were led by Jeremy Harris who shot 76-72-75-223 to tie for 23rd place. Harris'' even-par second round tied for the low on the team during the three-round tournament. Cody Miller, who shot 72 in the third round, tied for 34th at 79-73-72-224.
UC Santa Barbara rallied to win the team title. The Gauchos shot a tournament-low 279 in the third round and finished at 873. UCLA was two strokes back in second while USF and British Columbia tied for third at 881. Gonzaga completed the top five with a total of 886.
Brandon Crick of Gonzaga was the medalist after shooting 74-68-69-211. He finished one stroke ahead of UCLA''s Jason Kang (70-70-72-212).
Sacramento State also received scores from Kyle Candlish (81-73-75-229/t57), Scott DeBorba (78-78-75-231/t64), and Robert Budenbender (74-90-81/84).
The Hornets return to the links next week as they compete at the Cal State Northridge tournament beginning on Monday, Oct. 30.
