POHLL CONCLUDES PLAY AT PGA PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

6/23/2006

VERONA, N.Y. --- Sacramento State head golf coach Adam Pohll shot a 5-over 77 during the second round on Friday and finished 6-over at the 39th PGA Professional National Championship at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino.

Pohll opened the tournament with a 73 on Thursday and was tied for 99th overall entering the second round. The second-year head coach had four birdies and nine pars during his first 18 holes on the Atunyote course.

Friday, Pohll opened with back-to-back pars before bogeying the par-4 third. He remained 1-over through nine and then moved to even with a birdie on the par-5 10th. Back-to-back pars kept Pohll even through 12 but bogeys on 13 and 14 moved him to two over. After parring 15, Pohll bogeyed each of the final three holes to miss the cut — which was even.

Pohll qualified for the tournament after tying for fourth at the regional tournament held at Winchester Golf Club.
