Boise State (302-299-601) follows in third while UT-Arlington (306-296-602) holds fourth. Fresno State and UC Santa Barbara are tied for fifth with a first-day total of 603.

Individually, Fresno State’s Jason Anthony shot a 1-under 70-73-143 and leads Weber State’s Barry Schenk (74-71-145) by two strokes. Nine other players are within five strokes of the lead.

Thomas Steinhoff posted the lowest round by a Hornet and leads the team. Steinhoff shot 82 in the morning but responded with a 77 in the afternoon and is tied for 68th. John Bowen fired rounds of 78 and 82 and is one stroke behind Steinhoff. Chad Wood and Brian Little are tied for 82nd. Wood shot 78-84-162 while Littled recorded 83-79-162. Cody Miller rounds out the lineup at 79-84-163.
