MEN’S GOLF SIGNS ROBERT BUDENBENDER TO NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT

11/11/2005

SACRAMENTO, Calif.— The Sacramento State men’s golf team signed Robert Budenbender to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Adam Pohll announced today. Budenbender, who is currently a senior at Casa Roble High School in Orangevale, Calif., will enroll at the University in the fall as a freshman.

One of the most decorated recruits in program history, Budenbender is currently ranked 17th in California in the latest Golfweek/Titleist rankings for the 2006 class. In 2004 and 2005, he played on the Future Collegiate World Tour’s team which competed in Scotland.

“I am excited about having Robert join our program next year,” Pohll said. “To have a player with his ability and national tournament experience choose to stay local and play at Sacramento State is a boost to our program.”

Locally, Budenbender was the 2005 Capital Athletic League MVP and has won numerous Sacramento Area Youth (SAY Golf) and Junior Golf Association of Northern California events. This past summer, he shot 65 at Ancil Hoffman Golf Course in the Sacramento County Amateur Championships.
